Hey Hope College Fraternal Society! Thank you for taking time to assemble clean birth kits for us! 75 complete kits and an additional 25 partial kits in record time! These kits will go to remote communities to provide women with clean supplies when they're giving birth, increasing the chances of survival for both mom and baby. At the 2017 Global Health Charities gala, Jeanne Smithbauer won the mystery suitcase raffle, making her the first gala attendee to participate in the delivery of clean birth kits with GHC staff. We were also joined by her husband, Tom Katofiasc, our intern Brittany Byma and board member, Angela Lee, all of whom covered their own expenses to join us. The following is a video Brittany produced of Jeanne's experience! Let us know what you think!

A very special thank you to generous GHC "Let Life Bloom" sponsor Dr. Jeanne Smithbauer O.D.!

Dr Smithbauer was the grand prize winner of the Suitcase Raffle at last year's gala, and is currently traveling in Nepal with founder Patty Williams, Jeanne's husband Tom, and intern/photojournalist Brittany Byma. They were able to deliver 400 Clean Birth Kits in multiple locations in Nepal this week.

Thank you, Jeanne! We can't wait to hear about your trip at the gala!
